We’ve all tasted cheap beer. You know that toe-curling malt liquor every college student forces down their gullets on Thursday nights. But hey, what’s college for anyways?

I get it, you’re a broke student on the verge of splurging next month’s rent on cheap thrills and bad decisions. At the same time, it’s not exactly in the budget to drain your entire student checking pounding expensive beer. You can only afford cheap beer. Plus there are more important things to pay for like ramen noodles, electricity, and books.

But you should be warned, there are some downright nasty cheap beers on the market. Join me in a sampling of the 7 worst tasting beers you’d only drink in college:

1. “Camo 24 High-Gravity Lager”

As a rule of thumb “high-gravity” means you’re quicker to the floor. This stuff tastes like a rusty nail, and it’s typically more expensive than Busch Light. Why would you trade “watered-down goodness” for “rusty nail afterburner?”

2. “Big Flats”

There’s a reason Walgreen’s sells this for $2.99 per 6-pack. You can barely buy a 6-pack of cola at that price. Save the $2.99 for Subway coupons or Jimmy John’s customer appreciation days. You’re going to need to eat, and the dollar menu at McDonald’s will taste 100 times better.

3. “St. Ides Malt Liquor”

It’s cheap, bang for the buck, but you’re going to regret choking down that bitter nastiness. Whenever you see someone take a swig of St. Ides, and admit with watery eyes that “it’s not that bad” – then they’re blatantly lying, and you should run the other direction.

4. “Colt 45 High-Gravity”

**Refer to #1

5. “Hamm’s”

This stuff is a meal in a can. Drinking it is similar to lopping up too much gravy on Thanksgiving Day while simultaneously pounding fruit cake. It’s a brick in your stomach. Not to mention your grandfather drank Hamm’s, and I guarantee the recipe hasn’t changed.

6. “Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity”

Whoa. Buddy. Even the name is scary. Who wants to drink something named “Steel Reserve?” It’s like they bottled and aged Chuck Norris for 60 years before selling to college kids and gangbangers. Not to mention its science:
“High Gravity” x 211 = 211% better chance of you not graduating.
Stay away from this, unless you can withstand multiple roundhouse kicks to the face by Chuck Norris.

7. “Milwaukee’s Best Dry” (or “Milwaukee’s Best Ice” – both equally horrible)

If you’re going to stoop low and drink “The Beast” – please drink “Milwaukee’s Best Light.” At least the after effects on your stomach are manageable. Plus you’re going to look like the Marlboro Man strolling into a party carrying a case of Old Milwaukee’s. Wrong party old man…

In general your best bet is to stick with Natural Light, Busch Light, or Keystone. None are outstanding, but for the price they can quickly lube up your college experience. Happy indulgence!

Phil is launching a shower beer revolution one koozie at a time. If you enjoy beer in the shower like most college students, hop over to Shakoozie.com now!

By Eric J. Leech, author of Love, Lust, and Relationships

In today’s world of feely, touchy, emotional, and politically-correct nonsense, many of the worlds most important questions have been left unsaid, unanswered, unrepresented, or just plain unaccounted for. It is these politically incorrect mysteries that most college guys really want to know.

We don’t care how many dating websites it takes to find true love. We’d rather know which ones are putting out the most.

It doesn’t matter what the kilowatt force is behind an atomic bomb. We’d prefer to know the cataclysmic force behind a bean burrito with chili.

We don’t want to be bothered by how many rainforests it takes to energize a single light bulb. We’d opt for knowing how many sexual deviants it would take to screw one in.

With that said, let the infogasm begin:

1. On a ratio of size… which animal “tackle” is considered the most and the least impressive?

Answer: The smallest tackle belongs to the shrew at 0.2 inches, and the largest to the blue whale at more than 6.5 feet (keep in mind, that’s some pretty cold water).

Runner-up: The runners-up go to the Gorilla with his paltry two inches, and the Rhinoceros with a harem-pleasing two feet.

2. What’s the shortest male erection ever recorded?

Answer: 1.75 inches, and that was the guy, who was willing to come into the Kinsey Institute to be measured. Just imagine the size of the one, who was too embarrassed!

3. What are some of the most common items found underneath roller coaster tracks?

Answer: According to operators, besides the typical wallets, change, and keys… you would also find glass eyes, fake legs, false teeth and an ever-amazing number of bras—and I thought I was having fun on these things!

4. What is the most stupid sport in participation today?

Answer: Chess boxing! Two components duke it out for six rounds in a boxing ring, while playing chess in between rounds. A checkmate or getting ‘checked out’ (knockout) is the preferred method of victory.

Runner-up: Extreme Ironing is the combination of ironing your clothes, while performing your favorite sport (four-wheeling, scuba diving, rock climbing—you get the idea).

5. What was the earliest form of female intrauterine contraception?

Answer: The Egyptians are thought to have used stones placed inside their uterus as sort of a modern IUD (Intra-Uterine Device). Depending on the size of the guy, this would’ve felt like having sex with a brick wall—which would be contraception in itself!

6. How much marijuana would it take to kill the average man?

Answer: It couldn’t happen. It would be impossible to overdose once you lost all motor control, which includes the capability of holding the bud to your mouth. In other words, passing out at a party and waking up wearing a diaper and baby bonnet is the body’s way of saying, you over did it, so now I’m going to put you out before you do any more damage to yourself.

7. Could flatulence, if allowed to build-up, create the equivalent destructive energy of an atomic bomb?

Answer: Absolutely. If a man farted consistently for six years and nine months, releasing it upon the earth’s surface along with a lit match, its properties would theoretically contain the same devastating capabilities of a weapon of mass destruction.

And finally…

Bonus Question – How many sexual deviants would it take to screw in a single light bulb?

Answer: Only one, but it would take the entire cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” to fish it back out… (Badum-dumb)

The expansion of the internet and the online world has affected and improved people’s lives in a number of fantastic ways. The internet today provides everybody with useful knowledge about a variety of different topics, but more than that it has helped friends and family remain in contract throughout the world. One of the internet most recent uses, which has dramatically improved a large number of people lives, is online dating.

Online dating is one of the biggest phenomenons in the modern world in creating and building romantic relationships, simply through various websites. There are a number of ways individuals can date online. One of the most popular option for a large number of people around the world is to use a variety of different social networking sites to match profiles and create new friends or relationships, but while social networking sites are a fantastic way of meeting new people, one of the best ways of utilising online dating is through dating websites.

There is a staggering amount of dating sites available online, with a number of the best dating sites offering free dating to those who register. The process for using these free dating sites or for those which require a small fee for registering is very similar. Every dating site requires individuals to register; registering on dating sites can be a little complex, with a large number of sites requiring individuals to divulge numerous amounts of details.

In particular, most of the best dating sites require an individual to create an in-depth profile about themselves. To create this profile you may be required to enter your name, age, sex, geographic location, sexual preference, as well as upload a photo for your profile page. The best dating site will also require you to enter more detailed, personal information, for example any hobbies you enjoy, your likes and dislikes, some may even require personality questions. All of these questions are used to help create ideal matches that accurately match your personality and preferences.

Upon registering and creating an in-depth profile, most dating sites will offer other profile suggestions as well as allow you to search through the numerous profiles alone until you find a possible match. If you find an individual that interests you, you can contact the person by sending a message and beginning an online relationship, until you feel ready to meet.

The premise of online dating is simple, although the best dating sites operate a more complex website that will offer individual more viable and suitable options. Although many people are sceptical about dating sites they are a fantastic way of meeting new people who may share similar interests and possess a high success rate for helping like-minded people begin a relationship. Understanding the success rate and how easy they are to use will help you to understand what online dating is and why dating sites are the best way to begin online dating.

When school time rolls around, many students will have got their hands on a shiny, new iPad. The question is, how can students make the most of this device to help them manage their educational activities better. As with many Apple devices, it’s all about the apps. With thousands to choose from, it can be difficult to select the best ones. That’s why we’ve done the work for you with our pick of five iPad apps no student should be without.

Springpad

Everyone raves about note taking app Evernote, but we like Springpad, which offers similar functionality and is easy on the eye, too. The free Springpad app integrates with your iPad to let you seamlessly save all the stuff you think is worth noting to a series of notepads. You can also tag entries, which gives you multiple ways to find things. It’s a great organizational tool!

Dragon Dictate

Ever needed to take notes on the fly and then have them transcribed? Then Dragon Dictate is what you need. The iPad version of the popular Dragon Naturally Speaking and MacSpeech program, this app allows you to dictate anything you want to remember, as well as emails and text messages. With a bit of training, accuracy is close to perfect – and you will soon be taking voice notes up to five times faster than you could write them. This app is so good that we can’t believe it’s free!

iStudiez Pro

$2.99 is a small price to pay for an iPad app that can help you keep track of your schedule. iStudiez Pro app is intended for students managing timetables, so it’s more than just a calendar. The planner can cater for alternating and block schedules, and allows you to input contact information and office hours for all your professors. You can also track holidays, extra curricular activities, homework and exams, making this a good all round app for students.

MLA/APA References

OK, we’ve cheated a little bit here, by including two related apps. iSource MLA and iSource APA are the answer to a prayer for every student who’s ever struggled to compile a bibliography in the right format. Just input some basic information and the apps poll their database, fill in the blanks and generate a neat entry in the correct format. Fire up your LCD TV, your laptop, or your favorite tablet and get to watching some of the best TV shows (past and present) portraying the happiest and sometimes the most volatile period of a young person’s life. Here are the top five TV shows about college living:

Undeclared

Remember how depressed you were when Judd Apatow’s hilarious take on a gang of high school and middle school students in the 1980s (Freaks and Geeks) got cancelled after just one glorious season? Sadly, the exact same thing happened with his hilarious take on college life. According to Apatow, the only problem was that the show portrayed college life more or less truthfully, with sex, drugs, and drinking – a tough sell for network TV, but it sure made for one great show.

Felicity

This show was like Carrie Bradshaw before Sex in the City. The titular character talked to a friend by way of taped letters as a format for relating the events that were unfolding in her life (much like Bradshaw wrote columns about her personal life for her readers). Viewers got sucked into relationships, haircuts, and the vast uncertainty facing a group of college students as they tried to make heads or tails of love, life, and the prospect of a lifelong career choice. In short, it was just about as dramatic as actual college existence; with weird roommates, love triangles, and changing majors; which made it a perfect introduction for many teens just heading off to college themselves.

Greek

A lot of college students are not only excited about being away from home for the first time, but also about pledging a fraternity or sorority. In ABC Family’s take on the college sitcom, this is exactly the type of student we’ll see. You might not think this material sounds like a good fit for the family-friendly network that produced a show like squeaky-clean 7th Heaven, but when you consider that their current line-up includes more risqué fare like Pretty Little Liars and The Secret Life of the American Teenager (it’s no 16 and Pregnant, but it’s a big step for ABC Family), it makes more sense. And the network is certainly no stranger to melodrama, which this show embraces in spades. Also included, however, are gay-themed storylines, a daring and well-timed touch for the otherwise homogenous network.

Community

This has been described as the smartest, funniest show on the air right now, and anyone who has seen it would be hard-pressed to disagree. It’s 100% worth it for Joel McHale alone (although Chevy Chase and the rest of the cast are equally amazing). You’ll laugh out loud at some of the absolutely ludicrous stories, but overall, the fantastic acting and totally relatable characters will keep you coming back for more.

A Different World

This spinoff of the Cosby Show featured oldest daughter Denise (Lisa Bonet) heading off to college. Of course, she didn’t stay with the show (nor did costar Marisa Tomei), but the show still ran for six seasons. Although the laugh-track was a bit intrusive, the show managed to tackle some serious subject matter that is still relevant today (unlike the giant shoulder-pads and oversized blazers).

What is your favourite college-themed TV show?
