top 20 campus internets
The internet is such a big part of college life now-a-days. I know that at least half my friends are signed in to AIM 24 hours a day. Another half download music, TV shows, movies, and other “free” stuff.
So where are the best campus internets? The below list was compiled by PC Magazine, the Princeton Review, and Gizmodo (for the last 10 items). The list ranks all schools according to download and upload speeds, whether the school allows peer-to-peer networks like Limewire and BitTorrent, the availability of online course material, computer training classes and documents, and the amount of distant learning resources.
And here’s the list:
- Villanova University
- M.I.T.
- Indiana University Bloomington
- Swarthmore College
- Creighton University
- University of Illinois
- Michigan Tech University
- University of Southern California
- Quinnipiac University
- University of Oklahoma
- United States Military Academy
- University of Minnesota Twin Cities
- St. John’s University
- Clarkson University
- Temple University
- Stevens Institute of Technology
- Stanford University
- Eckerd College
- Pomona College
- University of Virginia
If you go to any of these schools or if you think your school should be on this list, please post a comment.

The real question is how many people have been caught downloading at those schools!

Rochester Institute of Technology?
I work as a Student Tech at Creighton University. While I don’t think we deserve the #5 spot, we are doing some pretty sweet stuff with technology on campus. Glad to see a list like this finally compiled.
And yes, we catch lots of people downloading stuff at our University.
